6 months already

Owen is already 6 months old. Here are some of his measurements from his check-up on Monday.
Length: 27 inches (75%)
Weight: 18 lb. 14 oz. (75%)

Head: 43.75 cm (50%)

Dr. Johnson said that Owen is the "perfect image of health." I love to hear that! And he always makes me feel like I'm doing such a great job as a mother.

Our dear friends, Kia and Kelsey Kamauu, recently moved to Hawaii. Kia got a new job. We pulled a trailer with their stuff in it to California last week (the reason for my blogging absence). It was a long drive there and back, but it was fun to hang out with the Kamauu's and a lot of Jeff's family who live in Cali.

Good Bye Pony!

No more ponytails for me! YEEHAW! It was nice to pull back the hair sometimes, but I love not having all that hair to pull back! I'm loving my new haircut. I think some people don't even notice that it's cut because I always had it in a ponytail.
I hate taking pictures of myself.

I've realized after taking so many of myself---that I really don't like my nose. And don't tell me you think it's cute just to make me feel better. How come no one ever told me it was so ug!

A few days ago I finally gave Owen rice cereal for the 1st time. I was a little slow starting this. He's been really hungry lately, so I decided my milk alone wasn't cuttin' it. He seems to like it, even though a lot of it ends up on the bib.

I finally realized about half way through the day that today was 9-11. I still have such sad, vivid memories of that day. But something I remember the most was how close I felt to all my fellow Americans. I just wanted to walk up to strangers and hug 'em. Unfortunate that it takes such tragedies to bring us so close together.

Gogurts and go short!

Ya know those Gogurts for kids? It's yogurt, but otter pop style. So you have to push the yogurt up out of the top. Benson was eating one yesterday and I always have him eat them at the table because I know he'll make a mess. Well, he couldn't get it all out, so he took it over to dad and this is what happened...Daddy made the mess! Jeff pushed it up and his hand slipped. The carpet looked a lot like Benson's face (with a yogurt line on it). I couldn't get mad because it was so funny. The first thing I did was grab the camera.
It's been six months since I've had my hair cut and colored. It is in desperate need of a makeover! My goal was to lose another 10 lbs before I cut it. I guess I'm a quitter because I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. I don't really feel bad about it either. I should, but I just love to get my hair cut. My wonderful cousin Russie is cutting it and I'm so excited. It's like Christmas! This is probably the longest I've had my hair since I chopped off my long hair when I got to college. Crazy! It was down to my waist and I cut off about 12 inches.

I always have my long hair in a ponytail and I'm so sick of it. Bring on the short hair---I love it! I will post my new hairdo in a couple days. I bet you just can't wait to see it.

Labor Day Weekend

For the weekend we went up to my brother-in-law(Trent) parents' cabin near Bear Lake. I didn't take any pictures of us at the cabin, but here are some of us at Bear Lake. We only stayed on the beach for about a half hour because we got there so late.
Of course we got some raspberry shakes after.

{All the boys got in the water. It was very cold, but Benson really liked it.}

It was nice to just get away and do something.
Thanks Trent!

Grandma Bean was up for a quick visit earlier in the week. Benson just loves his Grandma!
We always love when she visits.
