"We Wear Short Shorts"

Jeff is a great dad. Sometimes he does the funniest things that just make me laugh. Jeff put some shorts on Benson the other night before we went out for a walk. As Benson was riding his bike, Jeff said, "Benson's shorts are really short!" I look over and see that he is wearing a pair of Owen's shorts. You just never know what daddy will put on the kids. It actually matched---I have to give him that. Jeff is not always so good with the matching. I'm constantly having to tell him that he can't wear certain things together (at least out in public). Here's Benson doing a great pose in his short shorts.

Owen turned 5 months old on Monday. He is a wonderful baby! If all my babies could be like him, I'd have 6.

Here are some things that Owen loves to do:
Play with his feet
Roll over (not all the time, but he has on many occasions)
Grab anything he can get his hands on and put it in his mouth
Watch Benson play
Sleep all night! Here's the mouth hanging open, ready to slobber on anything he can get.

Benson put daddy's hat on Owen. So many things to do to little brother.

I haven't lost any weight in the last few weeks. We had a bunch of junk food left over from when family was visiting. If junk food is in my house then I will eat it. I just can't buy it and then it's not there to eat. I've also lost my motivation to go jogging. We are most likely not going to Florida in January---when I was going to do the Disney 1/2 marathon. The trip is going to be too much $$$. I've been a little better this week, so hopefully I lose at least 1/2 a lb. We weigh in every Friday morning, so I have today and tomorrow to work hard and eat right. I just take it a week at a time.

I'm 29!

Yesterday, August 13th, was my birthday. I am now 29 years old. Next year I will be 30, and I told Jeff that I want a rockin' party for that. But for now, I am 29 and holding! We spent the day in Brigham with most of my family. It was great to spend time with them!

Jeff got me a present I've been wanting for a long time...

I love this Phil and Ted's stroller. This is the exact one I got. Blue Camo would not have been my first choice, but it was $100 cheaper than anything else. So, I'm good with the blue camo. This is the best double stroller ever. I'm so excited to use it. They are pricey and we totally can't afford it right now, but Jeff knew how much I wanted it. Love you babe!

Playing Catch-up!

It's been over a week since my last post. I have a lot to catch-up on.
For several weeks in July we had almost all of Jeff's family come and visit. It was fun having everyone here. Benson got to know some of his cousins that he doesn't get to see very often. We are the only ones in Jeff's family that live in Utah. Here are some pictures of our couple of weeks with everyone.
"Full house" is an understatement!

"I love my cousins!"

Jeff getting a double foot message.

Benson loves his uncles.

Playing in the backyard

Jeff went to a paintball tournament is past weekend, so the boys and I went up to Brigham to stay with my parents. On Saturday my sister, Jena, and I went to the temple. Later that day we had a family reunion (my mom's side).

Grandma with Owen and cousin Avrie (she is 3 weeks younger than Owen).

On Sunday we decided to cut Owen's hair (his first).
When daddy got home from his trip he wasn't so excited about the haircut.

I think Owen looks more like Benson now---with his haircut.

I was also busy reading Breaking Dawn when it came out a few weeks ago. I loved it. I'm sad the series is over, but it had a great ending.

FYI - I set up the word verification on my comments form. I know it's a pain, but I had a friend tell me that her brother got a bad virus because he didn't have it--and it spread to everyone that looked at his blog. I don't want that, and I don't think you do either.
Thanks for reading my long post!

gotta love it

neglecting my children
ignoring my husband
skipping meals
not sleeping
obsessing over a book
oh ya, gotta love it!
