Weight Watchers

Jeff and I started Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago. We have done it before and we really liked it. After 3 weeks I have lost 6.5 lbs and Jeff has lost 9.5 lbs. I have about 7 lbs to lose until I get down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Of course I weighed more than I'd like, so I still have another 20 lbs I'd like to lose. That is my goal. Jeff would like to lose at least another 50 lbs. He just started going to a personal trainer. He'll be going 4 days a week for one month. Men always lose weight faster, so we'll probably get to our goals at about the same time.

Here's a picture of us the night before I had Owen. I've obviously lost some of this weight, but you get the idea of how fat we are. Jeff is pushing out his belly as far as he can...he doesn't normally look like this. Hee! He's going to be so mad that I put this on here---I can't believe I did it.

OH BOY!

Smooth Escape Artist
Early Friday morning (approx. 2 AM) the door swings open in our bedroom. I yell Jeff's name as I look up and see Benson standing in the doorway. He finally climbed out of his crib. Jeff about had a heart attack when I yelled his name. He thought someone broke into our house. Jeff slept with Benson up in the spare bedroom.
When it came time for naps on Friday, I put Benson in his crib. I was hoping it was just luck that he got out of his crib. Within minutes he was coming downstairs. Jeff came home right at that time, and I had him put Benson back in his crib to see how he climbs out. Jeff was very impressed. Benson is a smooth escape artist. Here is a video of his smooth moves! (hit pause on the playlist to the left)

So, Benson didn't take a nap that day. Here is a video of him at dinnertime (falling asleep). He was exhausted!

You'd think he'd go right to bed after that. Well, no. We got a toddler bed from a neighbor that day (thanks Moore's). He was so excited when we took him up to his room and got the new bed set up. So that woke him up a bit. And then of course he wouldn't stay in the bed (I'm sure many of you have experienced this). We had to just lock him in his room until he fell asleep (which didn't really take that long). He of course fell asleep on the floor.

Tummy Time Buddies
Here is a picture of Owen having some tummy time. Benson loves to lay down next to Owen whenever he has tummy time.

Burrito Buddies
I love to swaddle Owen up like a little burrito. Benson wanted to try it too.

Owen's first Sunday at Church
Here's a cute picture of "my boys" on Owen's first time at church. How handsome are they?!
Owen is 4 weeks old today! We love having him in our family. He is such a good baby.

What a week!

This past week has been full of ups and downs. Last Tuesday was my first emotional breakdown. Benson was having a hard time adjusting to baby Owen. He didn't take it out on Owen---he took it out on me. He was mad and would yell all the time. Benson also stopped sleeping through the night. I've heard that some kids will start wetting the bed (if they're potty trained) or stop sleeping through the night. I thought Benson would be okay, but he didn't like not having mom attention all the time. Things are getting better. Benson is sleeping fine again. But now he is trying to see what he can do to brother Owen. Here are some cute pictures I took of Benson holding Owen today. Right after I took these pictures Benson decided to plant a big kiss on Owen's lips (which I don't like him to do) and it looked like he was trying to bite Owen. Then he started kicking his legs so Owen was bouncing all over in his lap. That's what happens when mom is trying to take a picture and get a video.

We spent conference Sunday at my mom and dad's in Brigham. Everyone was there, except Dallin and Shari. My brother, Dallin, is on his mission in Switzerland. And my sister-in-law, Shari, had their baby yesterday. Her name is Avrie. Here is a picture of me holding her. Avrie was 20 inches and weighed 6 lb. 12 oz. Congrats Glade and Shari.

While we were hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Benson and cousin Garrett found some extra entertainment. They found the room where my mom keeps all of her stuff to do packages, and they got into the foam peanuts. What a mess. While they were cleaning up they both kept crushing the peanuts up. Benson had the foam stuck in his hair all day. They sure had fun.

I believe I only made it through last week because of some wonderful neighbors and friends who took Benson for many hours. I'm so thankful for my awesome friends! I hope it gets a little easier everyday, because I may actually make it!
